Biography

Rodolfo Gomez was born in the city of Havana, Cuba.  Born to a family of musicians, followed his father’s steps and at the age of 14 began his music studies at the Music Conservatory; Manuel Samuel. After two years of intense music training he continued his studies at a higher Music Conservatory; Amadeo Roldan from which he graduated top of his class in 1984 as a clarinet teacher. 

After his graduation, he began his music career playing with many well-known orchestras such as Orquesta Cubana de Musica Moderna, Orquesta Riverside, Saxophone Quintet Manuel Valera, Isaac Delgado Group and at the popular Tropicana Cabaret. 

During his music career in his beloved Cuba he participated in different international festivals, Festival International Jazz Plaza, Festival Internacional de la Cancion en Varadero where he played with international know artists such as Lucecita Benites, Eugenia de Leon, Luis Diaz and many others.  He also participated in different international tours with Tropicana Show.

Rodolfo, commonly known as Fofi, moved to USA in 1993 where he continued and abroad his career while playing with well-known artists and Orchestras such as Marisela Verena, Albita (Alba Rodriguez)  Gilberto Santa Rosa, Willie Chirino, Orchesta Cubanismo de Jesus Alemany, and Roberto Torres and continued to work with Isaac Delgado.  Fofi also played with Havana NRG in Dallas, TX and Club Tropigala at the Fountainbleau Hilton Hotel in Miami. He also played with The Band Tiempo Libre participating with different music festivals in Asia, and with the Six Son band.

Along his music career Fofi has been part of professional recordings with Grammy award winners such as Johnny Ventura and Albita Rodriguez; and Grammy nominee for Best Tropical Album with Tropicana All Stars.  Other recordings include those with Willie Chirino and Lissette Alvarez-Latinum Music, Francisco Paz-Musical Futura Studio and Roberto Torres with Wuajiros Records. 

Presently Rodolfo Gomez, resides in South Florida and has been an active band member of the very popular TV Shows, Seguro que Yes, TN3 and The Happy Hour; working at the local TV channel in Miami, America TV Network for over a decade. He is also a Saxophone and Flute teacher and offers private classes in Ft. Lauderdale.
